Madhouse Express
Madhouse Express – a fusion of psychedelia, fuzz and rock’n’roll, spinning through a spiral of spacetime where the past, present and future collide.
Some say they bring The Doors to mind, others might hear shades of Pink Floyd. And yes, Madhouse Express are rooted in the sound and spirit of the 60s. But with their own invention, talent and hunger for experimentation, they bring a unique and fresh musical style to the Czech scene.
The Prague-based band has been active since 2015. Their music blends shifting moods, sound effects, intense guitar riffs and melodies, catchy basslines, energetic drums, wildly eccentric vocals and keyboards pulsing somewhere out in deep space.
This psychedelic four-piece has played countless shows across the Czech Republic, earning nicknames such as “the Czech psychedelic preachers” and “the current kings of Czech psychedelia”. They have also taken their trip abroad several times.
Their catalogue includes an EP, video singles, and their long-awaited first LP, which fans have been craving for quite some time, is set to see the light of day soon.
So far, the band has shared the stage with well-known names from the contemporary global psychedelic scene, including Kikagaku Moyo, Holy Wave, The Wooden Shjips and Radio Moscow.
And it is precisely their live shows that make so many people speak about Madhouse Express in superlatives.
Live, you can expect a hypnotic psychedelic show, imaginatively enhanced by trippy video projections. A show that stands out through its complex musical expression, blending elements across musical tastes and genres, all perfectly underlined by the charisma of every member of the Express crew. And last but not least, there is the almost mystical presence of their exceptional frontman, who will carry you on waves of transcendent live experience all the way to a dreamlike surreal meadow.
